Abundant and Extensive experience with botulinum injections

I have already had experience with many botulinum injections for spasmodic dysphonia, a disease in the field of otorhinolaryngology. I have injected botulinum more than 8,000 times for more than 1,000 cases so far into the internal laryngeal muscles located deep in the larynx, using the electromyography technique.

In addition to spasmodic dysphonia, we also have experience in injecting botulinum toxin into the muscles of the tongue, face, neck, etc. for diseases such as tongue thrust, dysphagia, unilateral facial spasm, etc.

When injecting botulinum toxin for the above spasmodic dysphonia, we use a technique called electromyography, in which the needle tip is an electrode for electromyography and can surely reach the target muscles safely and accurately.

Otorhinolaryngology excels in the area of facial aesthetics

It is not well known to the general public, but in fact, otorhinolaryngology is very closely related to the area of facial aesthetics. When I was studying at the Department of Surgery at Yale University in the U.S., two otorhinolaryngology residents both became cosmetic surgeons. In other words, since otorhinolaryngology surgeons specialize in head and neck (surgery from the neck up), they are naturally very skilled in facial cosmetic surgery, and cosmetic surgeons who graduate from otorhinolaryngology are very highly regarded in the United States.

Facial cosmetic area as communication medicine

I have been focusing on voice and speech medicine as an otolaryngologist because I have been very interested in human communication using voice and speech.
Communication cannot be so good due to hoarse voice, stuttering, or poor pronunciation. In Kumada Clinic, I work with speech-language pathologists to improve such situations.

Besides the aural communication using voice and words as described above, human communication also involves visual communication such as facial expressions and gestures.
Facial expressions are especially important for communication, and for this reason, humans have developed facial muscles to a much greater extent than other animals. This can be clearly seen, for example, when compared to dogs and cats that are familiar to us.
I believe that botulinum toxin injections in the cosmetic field, which deal with such facial muscles, are in the field of communication medicine.
I will start botulinum injections in the aesthetic field based on the philosophy of visual communication medicine.
Now our clinical field covers two important areas of human communication, i.e., not only aural and oral communication using voice and speech, which I have been doing for many years, but also visual communication medicine, which deals with facial expressions.
